SCaLE: The Next Generation (TNG) is a youth-focused tech event—returning to Pasadena on Saturday, March 7th, 2026 from 11 am to 5 pm. This event provides a platform for the future leaders of the free and open-source community to showcase their innovative ideas, projects, and talents!

How to Get Involved
- Future Student Presenters:
Are you a middle or high school student interested in speaking at SCaLE 23x? Our Call for Presenters will open later this year in August. Start thinking about your projects, passions, and big ideas! Check out past presenters here.
- Volunteers Needed:
We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds to help us make TNG even bigger and better. Planning help, event day support, and outreach volunteers are all essential to the success of TNG. If you’d like to be part of the team, reach out to us at youth@socallinuxexpo.org
- School Groups & Clubs:
We love seeing school groups participate! Students and Chaperones receive free admission! Stay tuned for pre-registration details for 2026.

- Hands-on activities in our Workshop Space featuring Linux, machine learning, robotics, 3D printing, DIY environmental sensors, generative art, and more.
- Interactive games like Snap Circuits, Turing Tumble, Chicken Man Wi-Fi hacking, and micro:bit coding projects.
- Live demonstrations of the Open Source Rover and DIY robotics
- Fun giveaways including Raspberry Pis, electronics kits, and more—generously donated by the SCaLE community!
