SCaLE 21x – the 21st Annual Southern California Linux Expo – will take place on March 14-17, 2024 at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, CA.
SCaLE is the largest community-run open-source and free software conference in North America. It is held annually in the greater Los Angeles area.

Attend! Register to attend the conference. Expo is open Friday - Sunday. Talks and workshops are Thursday - Sunday.
Present! The SCALE 21x call for proposals is open Aug 1, 2023 - November 1, 2023.

UpSCALE is a set of lightening talks held at SCALE, in the style of Ignite presentations. Speakers will get 5 minutes to enlighten the audience. Slides will auto-advance every 15 seconds - this format makes for a fast paced, fun event for participants and audience.

The SCALE Team is excited to share that Ken Thompson will be joining us as a keynote speaker at SCALE 20X. Ken Thompson designed and co-created UNIX, UTF-8, Plan 9, and Golang among other technologies that have been foundational to modern technology and computer science. The SCALE Team is excited to share that Dr. Kitty Yeung will be joining us as Sunday morning's keynote speaker.
Dr. Kitty Yeung is a physicist, engineer and artist, in addition to her role leading incubation projects at Microsoft. To drive integration between science and art, she also founded a sustainable and STEAM fashion brand, Art by Physicist, and founded the fashion-tech initiative at Microsoft.
