Elliot Jordan is a Computer Applications Instructor in LA. He has taught for the last 5 years at various schools (K-16) throughout various districts. He was an consultant for several mid-size companies and has been an Open Source user and advocate since 1998. He has used Open Source software extensively in his own work and studies for his MBA.


This presentation is an overview of important applications (Firefox, Open Office, Inkscape, Gimp) that are commonly used in an educational environment. I'll also discuss Firefox security & plug-ins. I'll cover running Windows within Mac OS X using the Virtual Box virtual machine application.
