One of my favourite things about SCaLE has always been the expo floor. Walk a few steps from a big sponsor and you’re talking to the maintainer of a tool you use every day. That mix is deliberate. Open source projects and community groups sit right alongside the companies that depend on them, and that’s how it should be.

So once again, we’re setting aside free booth space for open source projects and communities at SCaLE 24x, April 1–4, 2027, at the Pasadena Convention Center.

What you get: booth space on the expo floor, power, and basic furnishings. Your project pays nothing.

What we ask:

  • Keep someone at the booth for all expo floor hours
  • Bring something worth an attendee’s time: a demo, a good conversation, something people can learn
  • Send a short write-up of what you plan to show and why it matters
  • Give us text for your booth sign and a logo we can print

The ask is simple. Show up, and make it interesting. If you have users you’d like to meet face to face, contributors you’ve only ever seen as GitHub handles, or a project you think more people should know about, this is your chance.

One honest note: space is limited, and every booth we hold for you is one another project doesn’t get. If you cancel within 30 days of the show or don’t turn up, there’s a late cancellation fee. We’d much rather see you there. If you know your plans have changed, tell us early and nobody gets hurt.

Applications close January 15, 2027. Apply at booths.socallinuxexpo.org.
