We're probably all familiar with CDRs that provide information about who called who, when and how long for... A vCon (virtualized conversations) is a standardized, machine-readable container for data from any type of human conversation, such as a phone call, video conference, or chat. Developed by the IETF, it standardizes how conversational data, including audio, video, text, metadata, and attachments, is collected, stored, and shared across different systems. You can think of it like a PDF or vCard for voice! Longtime industry shapers, like Jeff Pulver, believe vCons could be as important as SIP in the telecom world. Attend this session to get an overview of this area, the possibilities and security implications. We'll also look at a couple of ways to have Asterisk create vCons for you.
The presentation will take place in Room 106 on Friday, March 6, 2026 - 13:45 to 14:30
