From the trenches of pre Linux 1.0 warfare where Usenet was king and IRC was the instant messenger of choice comes a tale of trust, tribulation, Cyrix 486DX40 cpus and the ESDI drive. A winding yarn of failures and successes from one of the largest privately owned ISPs, to the last employment I ever had the privilege of being fired from. The termination resulted in the formation of a successful Open Source company that has been operating profitably from 1997 without debt, and without Venture Capital.
