If so, there's a very high likelihood that your coursework was based on books by Doug Comer. is a Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and professor of electrical and computer engineering at Purdue University in the US. Beginning in the late 1970s he started his continuing research into TCP/IP, which has earned him international fame in the field of Computer Science and computer networking. Doug is probably responsible for educating the vast majority of network and operating system engineers in the world today.
