SCALE 14x

Installfest

Linux is a robust and secure operating system with a rich array of applications.  The Southern California Linux Expo is once again providing those who want to start using Linux an opportunity to learn how.  SCALE will provide an Installfest + basic system administration class on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016.  The class will be held again on Sunday January 24th.

Training will be provided by the professional trainers of One Source Course, assisted by skilled SCALE volunteers.

Updates on Amateur Radio at SCALE 14x

Boy do we have a treat in store this year. SCALE's teaming with the local amateur radio (aka HAM) community to bring you a host of amateur radio based activities. We will have a HAM radio booth, which will show case neat equipment, and demos, including one using the ham digital or MESH network. The goal is to stream video from the show floor over a MESH network - that means not going over wifi or the wired lines on the show floor.

Moving Uptown: SCALE 14x at Pasadena Convention Center

The Southern California Linux Expo continues to grow with each passing year. So SCALE 14X – the 14th annual Southern California Linux Expo – opens a new chapter in the SCALE saga by changing venues: SCALE 14X will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center from Jan. 21-24, 2016. As the first-of-the-year Linux and Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) expo in North America, SCALE 14X opens with a larger venue which will accommodate more exhibitors, as well as more sessions, tutorials and special events.

Held annually in Los Angeles, SCALE is the largest community-run FOSS conference in North America.
