Workshop: Intro to Kyverno Kubernetes Native Policy Management

Topic:

Kyverno, a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) project, is a policy engine designed for Kubernetes. With Kyverno, policies are managed as Kubernetes resources and no new language is required to write policies. This allows using familiar tools such as kubectl, git, and kustomize to manage policies. Kyverno can also be used to mutate existing Kubernetes or generate new resources.

This is an interactive workshop for individuals interested in getting started with Kyverno. 

The workshop with cover the following:

  • Kyverno architecture

  • Kyverno policies vs PSP

  • Writing and using Kyverno policies  

Who should attend:

Everyone is welcome but you should definitely attend if:

  • You are a cloud architect, a DevOps or IT Ops professional, or an SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) or in charge of platform engineering or cloud infrastructure- on-premises, edge, or in a public cloud

  • You are responsible for implementing, operating and managing Kubernetes for your organization

  • Understand general details around Kubernetes 

Prerequisites: Attendees do not require any knowledge of Kyverno or Policy Management. Knowledge of Kubernetes is required. 

 

Set up required: 

  • Kubernetes installed or admin access to Kubernetes cluster

  • Helm

  • kubectl

  • Visual Studio Code or similar edition
