Become a MySQL guru

Topic:

A lot of companies, especially in the early days of finding product/market fit, do not have a dedicated DBA but that does not mean ‘no one’ owns the databases, it just means *everyone* does!

And that is fine, I didn’t start my career in tech planning to be a DBA, it just ‘happened’. In this presentation, I plan to tell you some lessons learned and teach you some tips and tricks on how to keep your MySQL databases running smoothly and protect your company’s most important asset. Query analysis, tools you need, metrics to track and how to keep your MySQL databases part of the devops culture of your team.

Most importantly, I will also tell you what signs to look for that you are ready to dedicate a position for DB management and what the expectations and tasks of that job is in a, hopefully, non siloed organization.
