Speaker Interview: Justin Mayer

Justin Mayer speaks at SCALE 13x Saturday at 1:30 on Rise of the Static Site Generator. The SCALE Team caught up with Justin to talk about his presentation.

Q: Could you please introduce yourself and tell us a little about your background?

A: My name is Justin Mayer. I design and build software for the web and mobile devices. For a few years I lived and worked in Japan, which was a fun experience. I only came back to my hometown of Los Angeles because I missed breakfast burritos. And my family. But mostly the burritos.

Speaker Interview: Cody Ashe-McNalley

Q: Can you please introduce yourself and tell me a little bit about your background?

A: I’m from Southern California and have wonderful family and friends. I've been fortunate to spend a decade in data science, scaling up Linux at UCLA and USC.

Speaker Interview: Gina Likins

Gina -- it's pronounced "Jenna" -- Likins has been doing web strategy for intranets and external web sites for over 20 years, so she would know a thing or two about this. " -- the topic of her presentation given on SCALE 13x Friday at 1:15. The SCALE Team caught up with Gina to talk about her excessive use of symbols in the title of her talk and other things.

Dan Hopkins talks about "Actors: Not Just for Movies Anymore," on SCALE 13x Sunday at 3, and deals with clusters getting bigger, yet we continue to use architectures that worked for websites built during the '90s Internet scale. SCALE Embedded Day

This year SCALE 13x has introduced a full day devoted to things Embedded with talks on Hardware and Software for debugging, Build Environments, Internet of Things development and other topics specifically related to Embedded Linux Development.  You'll be able to hear from industry and community experts in the embedded space on a variety of topics and even see flying fish (aka drones).  If you have an interest in working with embedded software and hardware, this is the event for you!  The SCALE 13x Embedded Day will be taking place on February 20th from 11am to 7pm.
