Linux Astronomy is a volunteer organization with the goal of encouraging students to get involved in both the world of free & open source software as well as the world of astronomy.  The groups has been designing and building a Linux powered remote controlled telescope.

Attendees will be able to see and learn about the evolution of the Linux Astronomy remote controlled telescope.  Attendees will also be able to see astronomy related programs running on the Linux operating system.  Various cool hardware hacks, in various states of functionality will also be shown.

The Linux Astronomy project plans to become a world-wide project with remote controlled telescopes located around the world, giving students constant access to a telescope looking at a black sky.
