I am a PhD candidate at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, where I work on finding exoplanets using low-cost, over-the-counter hardware for Project PANOPTES (www.projectpanoptes.org). After spending over a decade in industry building (mostly PERL) web applications, I decided to leave that all behind and pursue my childhood interest in astronomy. Luckily these days astronomy is mostly all about software development. When given some free time I enjoy getting outdoors, pretending to be a Shakespeare actor, or training for an upcoming 50k trail run. Not all at the same time.
