SCaLE 14X – the 14th annual Southern California Linux Expo – takes place on Jan. 21-24, 2016, at the Pasadena Convention Center. As the first-of-the-year Linux/Open Source software expo in North America, SCaLE 14X expects to host 150 exhibitors this year, along with nearly 130 sessions, tutorials and special events

SCaLE is the largest community-run open-source and free software conference in North America. It is held annually in Los Angeles.

SCALE 14x Registration now open

Registration for SCALE 14x is now open -- be the first in your neighborhood to register for the largest community-run Linux expo in North America.

The Full Access Pass, which provides access to all SCALE sessions, is $75. The Expo Only Ticket, providing access to exhibit hall only, is $15. The exhibit halls for SCALE 14x are open on Saturday and Sunday only.

Moving Uptown: SCALE 14x at Pasadena Convention Center

The Southern California Linux Expo continues to grow with each passing year. So SCALE 14X – the 14th annual Southern California Linux Expo – opens a new chapter in the SCALE saga by changing venues: SCALE 14X will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center from Jan. 21-24, 2016. As the first-of-the-year Linux and Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) expo in North America, SCALE 14X opens with a larger venue which will accommodate more exhibitors, as well as more sessions, tutorials and special events. 

Held annually in Los Angeles, SCALE is the largest community-run FOSS conference in North America.

Speaker Interview: Michael Dexter

Michael Dexter will be giving the talk, "FreeBSD Virtualization Options" on SCALE 13x Saturday at 4:30. A long-time BSD user, Michael comes down from Portland to speak, and the SCALE Team caught up with Michael to ask him a few questions about his presentation.

Speaker Interview: Justin Mayer

Justin Mayer speaks at SCALE 13x Saturday at 1:30 on Rise of the Static Site Generator. The SCALE Team caught up with Justin to talk about his presentation.

Q: Could you please introduce yourself and tell us a little about your background?

A: My name is Justin Mayer. I design and build software for the web and mobile devices. For a few years I lived and worked in Japan, which was a fun experience. I only came back to my hometown of Los Angeles because I missed breakfast burritos. And my family. But mostly the burritos.
