Call for Lightning Talks

It's time. Yes people if you have a 5-minute talk about an open source topic ready to share, then a submission to UpSCALE, in partnership with Opensource.com, is something you should consider over the new few weeks. Submit your lightning talk proposal before February 12 for a chance of glory on the upSCALE main stage.

On the evening of Saturday, March 4, hundreds of people will gather in Pasadena, CA to listen to an interesting realm of talks highlighting how the power of open source is influencing our world. Speakers will get 5 minutes to enlighten the audience. Slides will auto-advance while chosen speakers deliver their message, a brief story of open source deliciousness.

If you would like to be one of those speakers, there are two ways to be considered. First, submit your proposal at this webform (remember to select UpSCALE for track/topic) where our committee will decide on seven of the eight speakers. Second, you can attend the SCALE 15x Lighting Talk Workshop on Thursday, March 2. During the workshop Duane O'Brien will help you take your lightning talk from idea to implementation, and one lucky participant from the training session will be chosen to participate in UpSCALE.

We're very excited about this year’s UpSCALE session. Our goal is to bring you a diverse group of speakers and topics. Thanks for your proposals and we look forward to amazing evening.
