Tom Callaway
Fedora Engineering Manager
Red Hat
Tom "spot" Callaway is a 10 year Red Hat veteran; for the last 4 years, he's been in charge of *all* of engineering for Fedora, a distro with 125,354 packages, lord only knows how many lines of code, millions of users, tens of thousands of contributors, and (if that's not enough) the primary upstream for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, which is the dominant product of a $1.8 billion (...or thereabouts) company. Previously, he spent 5 years as a Red Hat Sales Engineer, and was awarded Red Hat Sales Engineer of the year for 2005 and 2006. Currently, he is also the lead for Fedora Legal issues, the chair of the Fedora Packaging Committee, and a former member of the Fedora Engineering Steering Committee and Fedora Board. He lives in Ayer, MA with his wife Pam, 2 year old son Jimmy, a cat, a frog, and a pile of SPARC systems. In his spare time, he loves hockey, pinball, board games, and origami.
