Command Line Efficiency

Audience:
Topic:

This talk is based on a set of internal classes offered to Facebook engineers on being more efficient on the command line. Learn from one of the presenters of these classes how we help Facebook developers be more productive. Engineers spend lots of time working with standard Linux tools and systems, and these tips and tricks are just as applicable outside Facebook, as well.

Learn about customizing and searching through your scrollback and command history, making your remote sessions resilient against connection problems, keyboard shortcuts (did you know Bash has an 'undo' button?), useful tools you may not be aware of, and some more advanced techniques for getting more work done in less time.

This talk assumes the audience has some familiarity with the command line, but should be useful for beginners and experts alike.
