Docker, Kubernetes, and Mesos: Compared.

Are you looking to choose open source software for running and managing your containers? Let's look at the prevailing three choices and explain in detail what they have in common, and how they are different. Which one is the right choice for you? As the PTL for OpenStack Magnum, I have a rare point of view of seeing production use cases for a selection of different open source container orchestration systems, including Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, and Apache Mesos. Each has their own strengths, and understanding what they are will help you in finding the right fit for your environment. I'll also explain an alternate point of view that explains why maybe you should not pick one of these choices, and instead take an approach where you can use a different one depending on the needs of a particular project.
