XPRIZE inspires and encourages people to solve the major challenges facing humanity, such as education, healthcare, ocean health, space travel, life sciences, and more. The first XPRIZE resulted in the commercial space-flight industry, and future prizes are building real-life Tricorders, creating Open Source technology that will bring literacy to hundreds of millions of kids, and more.

Jono Bacon left Canonical as Ubuntu Community Manager to join XPRIZE as Senior Director of Community. His mission and focus is to build a global community designed to help solve these grand challenges. This work is formed on the same ethos of Open Source, that together as a community we can create and achieve great things. Together we are going to solve some of the world's challenges that affect hundreds of millions of people.

The Open Source community, developers, and advocates are a key part of this work. Come and find out about these efforts and how you can be a part of changing the world.
