Brendan Gregg to Keynote SCALE 12x

The SCALE team is pleased to announces that Brendan Gregg has been named the first of two keynote speakers for SCALE 12X, the 12th annual Southern California Linux Expo, in February.

Gregg will speak on “What Linux Can Learn from Solaris Performance, and Vice Versa.”

Gregg has unique insight into the performance features and analysis capabilities of both Linux- and Solaris-based systems, which he covers in depth in his new book, “Systems Performance: Enterprise and the Cloud.” He works at a high performance cloud provider, where OS performance is core to the business, and frequently debugs head to head performance comparisons.

The keynote will address in depth how Linux system performance compares to other operating systems, particularly the performance-focused Solaris family of operating systems, and will address what features inspired by these Solaris-based systems could be added to Linux.

Registration for SCALE 12X, the first-of-the-year Linux expo in North America, is open and registrants can register online.

The venue, the Hilton Los Angeles Airport hotel, is offering SCALE 12X attendees an expo discount of $112 per night.

SCALE 12X will be held from Feb 21-23 at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport hotel.
