This talk will cover the lessons those organizations have learned such as: product managing, attracting and retaining developers, seeding trust and skills, re-skilling existing ops staff, etc.

When making the leap from "running Postgres" to "running Postgres at scale", managing table bloat is a hurdle which many engineers trip over. By diving into topics such as Multi-Version Concurrency Control (MVCC), autovacuum, and table design, this talk will explain what table bloat is, why it occurs, how to manage it, and (best of all) how to avoid tripping over it in the first place.

In this talk, we are going to introduce Kairos, an open-source project aimed at building immutable Operating Systems designed for Kubernetes, with a toolset simplifying operations at the edge, in a cloud-native way.

Kairos acts as an engine delivering immutable Kubernetes-enabled Linux OS from OCI conformant container images. It provides unique capabilities, such as VPN peer-to-peer mesh, distributed ledger to automate Kubernetes cluster bootstrapping and coordination, and zero-touch provisioning with a QR code scan.
