Hands On Beginner Linux Training

Linux is a robust and secure operating system with a rich array of applications. SCALE is once again providing those who want to start using Linux an opportunity to learn how. SCALE will provide an installfest + basic system administration class to help you hit the ground running with Linux. One class will be offered daily on Saturday, March 9, or Sunday, March 10. The course is a ONE DAY course, only sign up for one day and plan to attend the whole day.

Training will be delivered by the Linux Foundation's professional trainers, and assisted by skilled SCALE volunteers.

Prerequisites: For a dedicated installation, a desktop or laptop system with at least 2 Gigabytes of RAM and 10 Gigabytes of disc space. If you plan to dual-boot your computer with both Windows and Linux ensure your computer has 10 Gigabytes of free, unformatted disc space available to Linux prior to attending the class. If you plan to install Linux in a VM, please have VMware installed prior to arriving at the class.
