Linux Beginner Training

Audience:

Linux is a robust and secure operating system with a rich array of applications. The Southern California Linux Expo is once again providing those who want to start using Linux an opportunity to learn how. SCALE will provide an Installfest + basic system administration class on Saturday, March 10th, 2018.

Training will be provided by The Linux Foundation's professional trainers, and assisted by skilled SCALE volunteers.

For the price of a Full Expo pass, the attendee will learn how to install and administer a Linux operating system and and still have time to tour the remainder of the Expo.

Prerequisites: for a dedicated installation, a desktop or laptop system with at least 2 Gigabytes of RAM and 10 Gigabytes of disc space. If you plan to dual-boot your computer with both Windows and Linux ensure your computer has 10 Gigabytes of free, unformatted disc space available to Linux prior to attending the class. If you plan to install Linux in a VM, please have VMware installed prior to arriving at the class.

Attendance will be first-come first-served. Please note this is a full day class.
