Kids on Computers (KOC) is a nonprofit organization comprised of a group of volunteers who want to bring computers and free and open source software to disadvantaged kids in order to provide them with increased educational opportunities so they can enrich their own lives and the lives within their communities. KOC currently has labs in Mexico, Argentina, Nepal, India, and Morocco.

Linux Astronomy is a volunteer organization with the goal of encouraging students to get involved in both the world of Free and Open Source Software as well as the world of astronomy. The group has been designing and building a Linux-powered remotely-controlled telescope.

Attendees will be able to see and learn about the evolution of the Linux Astronomy telescope. Attendees will also be able to see astronomy-related programs running on the Linux operating system.  Various cool hardware hacks in various states of functionality will also be shown.
