Abstract:

An introduction to the ruby language and some of its nuances.  The talk will focus on basic syntax, file manipulation and web requests. It will touch on how to do more research, finding gems (ruby packages), and finding documentation.  There will also be an introduction to using irb (the interactive ruby shell).

Any remaining time will be spent answering questions and looking at examples.
