Call For Papers

The So Cal Linux Expo is proud to announce the 6th Annual Southern CaliforniaLinux Expo scheduled for February 9-10, 2008 at the Westin Hotel near the Los Angeles International Airport. Wide spread acceptance and encouragement for the usercommunity has established SCALE as a premiere conference in the Southern California region.

Continuing our efforts to promote open source, we invite you to share your work on Free and Open Source projects with the rest of the community as well as exchangeideas with some leading experts in these fields. The proposals should be submitted in the form of a 1-page extended abstract com-prising:

  1. Title for the talk
  2. Name, affiliation, bio, a passport size picture and contact email address of thepresenter (needed for publishing on the website and final program schedule)
  3. What will be covered? A list or a brief description of the main points to bepresented should be submitted. Please include enough detail that will enable the committee to evaluate the proposal.
  4. Please notify us if the presentation will require a special technical set-up. Thesetup provided will include:
    • microphone
    • overhead projector (resolution 1024 * 768)
    • a laptop running Linux with a pdf viewer as well as OpenOffice

Submission formats in txt and pdf will be accepted. Presentations will be allotted atime slot of about 45 minutes. As we are attempting to increase open source awareness it is highly desirable that presentations must be done in open non-proprietary format.All proposals are to be sent to kapadia@socallinuxexpo.org.
