Samba For Dummies

To quote the Samba homepage "Since 1992, Samba has provided secure, stable and fast file and print services for all clients using the SMB/CIFS protocol, such as all versions of DOS and Windows, OS/2, Linux and many others." This presentation will walk the user through installing Samba and cifs-utils on a Debain based system. After installation, we will configure a simple Samba share for guest access, and then a more useful private share. We will then go over the process and options of using cifs-utils to mount and access a Windows share from a Linux system.
